Receding Gums

Gum recession is not something that happens overnight. In most cases, it is a condition that develops gradually over time. Because the changes are minimal day to day, they can go unnoticed until someone points them out or a secondary problem occurs. Some examples of secondary problems are:

  • Sensitive teeth, because more of the dentinal tubules are exposed.
  • Teeth may appear longer.
  • The tooth can feel notched at the gum line.
  • The space between teeth can appear larger because it is no longer filled with gum tissue.
